Excursions and water sports

Los Haitises National Park

Los Haitises National Park stretches over 2,000 miles of virgin rainforest, mangroves and paradisiacal beaches, and is home to some 230 species of birds, many endemic to the Dominican Republic. If you're lucky, you might see some of them, as well as whales, dolphins and manatees. The park is famous for its caves where you will find spectacular Taino pictographs and petroglyphs. There are still many caves that have not yet been excavated, as they are almost impossible to reach.
